Cosmetic ingredient bioactive profiling: know what's in your botanical extract
A botanical extract holds many compounds. A certificate of analysis reports a few. Every ingredient is unique, and the same species can differ by variety, supplier and process. The rest of the profile is worth knowing.
We treat a botanical ingredient as a discovery project. Three complementary workflows capture the depth and breadth of its bioactives, such as polyphenols, alkaloids, terpenoids and glycosides. Each is annotated to the health areas it is associated with in published research and ranked by evidence.
You get a searchable molecular atlas, the bioactives with their evidence, a readout and an interactive dashboard with all the data and metadata. It supports cross-validation and method transfer to pilot scale. 4–6 weeks from project start. Quantification is optional.
What we find:
- The bioactives beyond the headline markers
- Health-area annotation, such as skin health, metabolic health and antioxidant activity, with evidence levels
- Lot-to-lot and supplier-to-supplier differences in the same named ingredient
