Herbal extract bioactive discovery: look beyond the marker compound

Herbal extracts are often specified by one marker compound. That leaves the rest of the extract in the dark. Every ingredient is unique, and the same species can differ by variety, supplier and process.

We profile the whole extract with three complementary workflows: polyphenols, alkaloids, terpenoids, glycosides and other secondary metabolites. Each is annotated to the health areas it is associated with. The evidence level is shown. We describe the material. We make no health claims.

You get a searchable molecular atlas, the bioactives with their evidence, a readout and an interactive dashboard in 4–6 weeks from project start. Quantification is optional. You also get a concrete baseline to compare against future lots, new suppliers or a change in process.

What we find:

  • A broad bioactive profile, beyond the marker compound
  • Health-area annotation, such as cognition and brain health and cellular protection, with evidence levels
  • How your extract compares with other lots or suppliers
